I’ve been reading traveling mercies by Anne Lamott given to me by a fellow church planter. what breath of fresh air! her journey of faith is pa powerful one. i could see why many in the Christian world don’t like her writing she lays it all out there. the good and bad right next to each other. the struggles and the triumphs side by side. the is no nicely wrapped candy coated Christianity. this is faith on the real. the kind of down to earth faith relationships with God that are evident in the old testament scripture in the bible.
Lamott shows that we can wrestle with God and still keep faith. we can have doubts and still keep faith. we can be flawed and still have faith.
faith is ultimately a journey on which God gives us traveling mercies.
