this recent article on the Monday Morning Insight Weblog: Bill Maher and Comedy Against Christians suggest that bill maher the host of the hbo talk show real time is anti-christian.
the article quotes maher as saying, many christians pray like they are asking santa claus for gifts. he also raises the inconsistency in many christians in their love of jesus and “love of guns”.
now i must say that maher show isn’t for everyone. but i like the show. he has some great guests on his panel. recent guests i’ve seen included michael eric dyson and cornell west.
i don’t know if any of this is anti christian, but it sure challenges followers of jesus to think about how the way that live our faith is perceived by those who don’t follow jesus.
anti-christian prophetic or just another maher miscue???
hmm…

spent yesterday and today on a survival overnight with my son Jordan. we went up to camp tall turf with his fifth grade class. we had to build a lean to shelters and cook dinner and breakfast over an open fire. we ended up on a unintended five mile hike Monday night after a game of wolf pack. then it rained (first time in weeks) and the few holes that were left in the roof of our shelter were right over my sleeping bag.
all in all it wasn’t bad. really enjoyed spending time with the big kid and passing on some of my outdoor skills from my boy scout days

With our Grand Opening date now set for Nov 7th we are counting down the weeks before our official birth. We have been doing tons of stuff in the community and worshiping weekly for three months now we are putting the final pieces in place needed to have a complete church experience. The first and most important piece is prayer without God, none of our preparation means anything so we are praying that God will sustain us and bring those into our community who are meant to be here.
