Well I'm going to go see it this Friday to see what all the fuss is about. I'm going to try reading the book before don't know if I'll get done.

But since I plan to preach on it this summer as a part of of our Finding God at the movies series @ Mosaic Life.

I'm not sure how I feel about all the hoopla. Is is any different that the hoopla evangelicals have for passion of Christ or Narnia or End of the Spear?

I do think stories matter that is why we have to pay attention to stories that captivate our culture. even if we disagree with the truth in them we need to explore the reasons why they are so captivating. This is point Brian Mclaren makes in his new book which I am reading the Secret Message of Jesus.

i still cant believe what people are doing about this movie. its the equivalent of all of germany protesting the movie "saving private ryan." i still say that if people are stupid enough to actually believe that this movie is real, then they deserve to be blasphemous and go to hell. as far as feeling sorry for churchs, well, thats rediculous. lets feel sorry for the child molesting catholics. lets feel sorry for the money-grubbing baptists. i really do feel sorry for evangelicals though, because those people are effin crazy.
